Ideal applicant:

  • Graduate land surveyor with a minimum 2 years working experience or has experience as a technical assistant
  • Has experience in land development
  • 4th year students are welcome to apply for part-time work
  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, and Leica Total Station/ GPS is advantageous
  • Excellent written and vocal communication skills that ensures the internal and external stakeholders and clients are well represented
  • Be self-motivated, uses their initiative and would thrive in a team environment

Engineering Draftsperson 

Millar Merrigan is an established Land Development Consultancy with more than 55 years in the industry. 

We are an integrated multi-disciplinary organisation and a specialised consulting group. Providing civil, construction and structural engineering, planning, building design, asset recording, land surveying, project delivery and landscape architecture services for a wide range of development projects.

The suitable person will thrive in a busy environment and enjoys working towards team deadlines in a workplace which embraces continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Prepare civil design plans and drawings for land development engineering projects 
  • Interpreting information accurately 
  • Maintaining design plans by revising and updating in accordance with statutory authorities and clients’ expectation 
  • Delivering projects timely and within specifications 
  • Preparing and maintaining engineering documents 
  • Assisting other team members 

 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 
  • Knowledge of AutoTURN 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) 
  • Land development experience in commercial and residential environment 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate 
  • Knowledge of local engineering regulations 
  • Working experience with local authorities and town councils 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet datelines 
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering documentation
