Features & Innovation
A challenging feature of the site was the unsightly, eroded and degraded watercourse which traversed the land.
After significant consultation, negotiation and cooperation, Melbourne Water agreed to the redevelopment of the watercourse to provide improved gross pollutant control, sediment control, 1 in 100 year flood retardation and general rehabilitation turning a site constraint into a feature which will enhance liveability for residents and achieve significant water quality improvements to the watercourse and the Yarra River . Within the watercourse and surrounds approximately 150,000 aquatic and terrestrial plants at a value of approximately $750K will be established.
