    The Role
    This position presents an exceptional opportunity to take the lead in the most important department of an expanding business while working with a dynamic team. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist/Manager to create a best practice HR function including developing a hiring strategy, job profiles, career paths and performance review processes. Our office is based in the Eastern suburbs so this will suit perfectly if you live in the East and tired of the city commute.
    Skills Required
    This new role would suit an experienced Human Resources Generalist/Manager looking for a part-time role within a growing values-driven organisation looking to enhance staff performance.
    Reporting to the MD, you will have a good understanding of human resource strategies, polices and HR Matrix data and will have demonstrated experience managing the end to end employee life cycle.
    You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to lead staff in all aspects of people management, having mentored, supervised and developed teams.
    Specifically you will;
    – Provide high level HR advice including generalist support and coaching to the organisation’s executive team, managers and employees
    – Identify trends & analyse data to drive recruiting strategies & support business decisions
    – Effectively manage employee relations cases and issues
    – Coach business managers to improve people management capability
    – Support HR projects, policy development and implementation
    – Support business managers in the implementation and management of change
    – Assist business managers with business decisions, including workforce planning
    – Have a sound knowledge & understanding of relevant ER legislation

  • Civil Design Engineer

     

    Over 50 years Millar Merrigan has provided a wide range of services including engineering, consultancy, town planning, architectural, landscape, asset recording and project management. Join our progressive team working on exciting land development projects across Melbourne including the Gippsland area. It’s massively exciting because these projects are in the planning phase so you will be a part of shaping these projects.

     

    A permanent full-time position has now become available for a Civil Design Engineer to join our engineering team at our Croydon office.

     

    Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be joining our engineering team of 15 to which we require you to hit the ground running designing and documenting across subdivision projects involving bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, sewerage, and water and liaising with Councils and service authorities. You will also be involved in significant infrastructure projects which can range from car parks, minor drainage and plumbing works to major drainage schemes, VicRoads signalized intersections and much more and general civil works.

     

    To be successful in this role you will need to be proficient in 12D and ACAD, with a proven track record of delivering both concept and detailed designs across residential subdivisions and commercial or industrial projects.

     

    Ideally you will have:
    • A high level of autonomy, however guidance is available dependent upon experience
    • Formal qualifications / Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering / Bachelor of Civil Engineering
    • Strong knowledge in Australian codes and standards
    • Minimum 3 years’ relevant land development experience
    • Hands on experience with 12D, AutoCAD, Drains, Music
    • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate well with senior management, the design team, authorities, and clients
    • Be able to identify and assist in facilitating new areas of innovation
    • A sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards, VicRoads, AustRoads, WSAA and other Authorities policies and guidelines including local Council Standards
    • The ability to apply a sound understanding of civil engineering principles to all projects
    • Experience producing designs, documentation, specifications, and reports to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity with some guidance of senior staff
    • A highly organised and punctual approach
    • The ability to manage the workload of multiple projects.
    • A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
    • A valid car license.

  • Graduate Land Surveyor/Experienced Team Leader

Join our progressive team working on exciting land development projects across Melbourne including the Gippsland area. It’s massively exciting because these projects are in the planning phase so you will be a part of shaping these projects.

     

    We a position available for a Graduate Surveyor or an experience party team leader to join our Surveying team at our Croydon office.

     

    The right person must:
    • Be a graduate land surveyor with a minimum 3 years working experience or have experience as a survey party / team leader
    • Be registered to work in Victoria & New South Wales
    • Have a proven work history in subdivisional title survey
    • Have experience in land development
    • Must have proven skills with Acad, Stringer, Geocivil and Leica Total Station
    • Excellent written and vocal communication skills that ensures the clients internal and external stakeholders are well represented
    • Be self-motivated, uses their initiative and would thrive working for a family based business.
